State of Our Health 2024
Over 150 people gathered together at Washtenaw Community College on October 28 to join the Washtenaw County Health Department’s 2024 State of Our Health event! Bringing together community members and local professionals, this year’s event was a space for people to learn more about the ways local public health protects our community every day. It also provided an opportunity to connect with others who are passionate about improving the health of our community.
Attendees enjoyed a presentation on local public health from Health Officer Jimena Loveluck, a panel featuring Health Department leadership who shared decades of insight on how local public health has grown and evolved over the years, and breakout sessions focused on our three Community Health Improvement Priority (CHIP) areas: mental health, health care access and navigation, and access to heathy food. Check out the recordings of the presentation and Health Department leadership panel below.
Thank you to every presenter, panelist, and community member who joined us! As Laura Bauman said during our Health Department leadership panel, we’re so grateful to do public health work in this community.
